GHL ends June on top of trading

TRADING ended yesterday with 940,563 shares being exchanged for the second highest daily value for the month, $22.54 million. Guardian Holdings Limited (GHL) led trading activity with 253,260 shares trading, valued at $7.85 million.

Scotiabank DBG Investments Limited (SDBG) and First Caribbean International Bank Limited (FCI) followed with volumes of 190,200 shares and 106,500 shares with values of $590,670 and $1.22 million.

Republic Bank Limited (RBL) ended with a total volume of 82,028 shares for the highest daily trade value of $8.33 million. All four securities in the banking sector were actively traded with an overall volume totaling 271,757 shares valued $9.89 million while the Non-Banking Finance Sector contributed 489,859 shares for a value of $9.25 million.

Angostura Holdings Limited (AHL) increased by 22 cents up to $6.25 while LJ Williams B (LJWB) gained five cents to close at $1.51. Ansa McAl Limited and National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited moved up by four cents each to $60.09 and $2.15 respectively.

Scotiabank TT Ltd and Capital and Credit Financial Group Ltd climbed by three cents and two cents to end at $37.24 and 81 cents in that order. Scotia DBG Investments lost 13 cents closing the day at $3.10 while Sagicor Financial Corporation shed one cent ending on $21.64.

The Mutual Fund did not experience any trading activity with prices remaining at $4.95 for Caribbean Property Fund, $4.99 for Praetorian Property Mutual Fund and $75.98 for SavInvest India Asia Fund.

The Second Tier Market did not witness any trading activity and thus prices stood at a dollar for FNCU Venture Capital Company Limited and $5.80 for Mora Ven Holdings Limited. The bond market did not record any trading activity.

The All TT Index remained above 1,500 points after crossing that mark on Friday for the first time since June 8, 2005. The All TT was up another 2.33 points to close on 1,502.08. The Composite Index also witnessed an increase from the day’s trading up 1.48 points to 1,150.24. The Cross Listed Index inched upwards by .20 points to 98.23.
